Daily Deal stats

A few stats from the BIA Kelsey  Daily Deal conference last week in San Francisco.

These are from The Dealmap, a Daily Deal aggregator in the US.

-80% of daily deals are controlled by 20 sources;

-69 percent of daily deals are controlled by 10 sources;

-40 percent of daily deals are controlled by just two sources: (Groupon and Living Social)

National Footprint: Most daily deal providers cover between 2 and 9 markets.

Quick thoughts:

As larger organizations roll out their Daily Deals nation wide, the above numbers will be altered quite substantially.

Companies like Facebook, Google, AT&T and most large Media/Newspaper publishers will be rolling out their Daily Deal services in more cities over the next 6 months.

The above is Data for the US. We are putting together some Data for Canada and will publish as soon as we can.
