Tuango expands further, buys popular Le Renard

Big acquisition news occurred last week as Tuango, the leading deal site in Quebec and in the top 5 across the country, announced the purchase of another high rated site in Quebec, Le Renard. The acquisition brings the following points:

* Tuango further increases their reach across the province. They are simply the most dominating deals company in the province and this acquisition adds to their strength

* They will add another 200,000 or so consumer emails to their existing members database. Bring the total close to 750,000. the majority of which are in Montreal. This is a significant percentage of the population. (Greater Montreal has about 3.4 million people and Quebec has about 7.9 million)

* With the purchase comes a relationship that Tuango will now have with La Presse and their affiliated newspapers across the province. (La Presse is the leading French language newspaper in the province). This will add tremendous exposure for Tuango across the province.

* Part of Le Renard’s membership was a higher end audience, more income, more educated, purchasing more cultural deals. This will be a benefit for Tuango.

All in all, this is a very positive acquisition for both Tuango and Le Renard. Tuango acquires a quality service and database along with advertising partners and owners of Le Renard merge with the leading service in the province.
