Some US based online services have become so popular that we, as Canadians, certainly appreciate using them within our geography. Services such as Open table, Zagat, Yelp, Entertainment Book, etc
Given the popularity of the Daily Deal concept, media companies, internet portals and pretty much any other online service with a large audience is coming out with their own Daily Deal/Group Buying service. The following services have already launched their daily deal services.
Now the question is: “WHEN ARE YOU COMING TO CANADA?” There is a very large audience waiting and thirsty for your services.
Open Table: The popular online restaurant reservation service
Zagat: The popular restaurant review service
Yelp: The uber popular local business review site
Facebook Deals: already in Canada
Google Offers: The whole world is waiting on this one. Should be before summer 2011
The Entertainment Book: popular fund raising coupon book now offering daily deals in the US.
Plus numerous more
Once US based services enter the Canadian market, we will see:
-happier consumers, because they get more deals, more often
-happier retailers, more consumers, more often
-upset Canadian Daily Deal services, more competition from services with actual marketing budgets.
Some of these Canadian businesses can position themselves to be bought out by the large US players. If this is a viable option for you, then contact us. We are often contacted by industry professionals about which services would be most effective to purchase and we also keep in touch with large media and online players in the US looking to come into Canada.
Until then, Canada is open for business. We welcome one and all. (although we would prefer to see a Canadian company dominate)
