What Manus Does Well
Research tasks are where Manus genuinely shines. Give it a topic and ask for a comprehensive report with sources. It will browse 15 websites, pull relevant information, structure it logically, and produce something that would take a human 2-3 hours. Manus does it in 15-20 minutes.
Coding tasks with defined scope work well too. "Write a script that downloads all images from this URL and saves them organized by date" — Manus writes the code, tests it, fixes errors, and delivers working output.
Where Manus Falls Short
Complex multi-step tasks with ambiguity. If a step requires judgment — which of these three options is better for my situation? — Manus will pick one arbitrarily and continue. Often the wrong one.
Tasks involving login-protected pages. Manus cannot log into your accounts (and shouldn't — never give an AI agent your passwords).
Long autonomous runs without supervision. The longer Manus runs unsupervised, the more likely it is to get stuck in a loop, make a wrong turn, or produce output that drifts from what you wanted.
The honest rule: treat Manus like a smart intern on their first week. Review everything it produces. Don't let it touch anything irreversible without checking first.
Manus vs ChatGPT with Browse
